BUNT/BONT COLUMBIA CTY, NY
Hi.I am also interested in finding out information on a Jan Bont/Bunt (male). As far as my Great Uncle has told me he started the Dutch Reformed Church in Claverack, NY.
The only other information I have found on him so far is about a house on a road south from Hudson (masonary and deep oak beams)(source is the History of Columbia County, NY : Ellis)This is known as the old Bunt place.Records of Claverack church among signers to the compact (?) were Jan Bont and Hendrick Bont, four generations of that family lived in old stone house (Bunt place) dating back to 1725-1730.
