Kirsten,

From my research, I am reasonably happy to state that all Bunyans originate from the Bedfordshire/Hertfordshire area of England. Even today if you map the concentrations of Bunyans from the phone book, the densest area is this one closely followed by London. There is also a a fairly healthy grouping in Scotland.
