This may not be related to your query. However, I am researching the Welchel family in South Carolina and found Ebin Bunyan Welchel (handwritten but the middle name appears to be Bunyan). There are a lot of Welchel/Whelchels in South Carolina and Georgia. I am wondering if perhaps a Bunyan married a Welchel and gave their son this name? Have you had luck in your search for your Bunyan ancestor in Georgia?
