HENRY M. MONROE, son of JAMES and EATILDA MONROE, was born in Clarke County, Iowa, October 2, l87l, and died at Oakdale, Iowa, August l3, l925, being 53 years, l0 months and ll days of age.

Most of his life was lived in Clarke and Decatur Counties where he was known to all the people as an honest, law abiding citizen.

Of late years, his health has not been good and he was in the habit of spending much time in the south. For the past several months he has been at the sanatorium at Oakdale, Iowa, where the end came last Thursday.

The deceased is survived by only two sisters out of a family of eleven, three boys and eight girls. The sisters are: MRS. ALICE MILLER, of Waseke, Minn.; and MRS. GEORGE BURCHETT, of Grand River. Also leaves six nieces and ten nephews.

The funeral services were held at the Gregg Chapel on Sunday at l:30, August l6th, conducted by Rev. George W. Hall. The music was furnished by a mixed quartet composed of A.E. Blair, C.H. Robins, Mrs. Fred Bone and Mrs. Forest Cole. The interment was made in Gregg Cemetery.
