Hello Marshall
What part of Iowa did your Burchetts come from. My Gggrandfather George Burchett came to Burlington Township Des Moines County, Iowa about 1849.He was listed in the 1850 census of Des Moines Co. He moved to Adair Co. MO. in 1857. Next to him in Des Moines was living J W Burchett (46), Boiler Maker, value of land 200 and wife Phedina (41). Plus 5 children. James (18) b-Pa. Farmer, Hester (10) b-Ohio, Louise (8) Iowa, Jonathan (3) b-Ky and Mary (1) b-Iowa. He may be a brother or cousin to George.I don't know where thie familey of Burchetts moved to. Benjamin Burchet, Georges son, married Octavia (Onda) Wright in Des Moines, her brother Chester C. Wright Married Elizabeth Ann Burchett in Des Moines. The Burchetts and Wrights moved back and forth betreen Adair Co. and Des Moines over the years.
