Hi
I have never posted to a genealogy board before and hope that I do this correctly.
I have not researched this family for many years but acording to notes i took at that time.
a deceased great aunt stated to me that John never served in the Civil war and that family remembers him having a slight limp, coud this be why he didnt serve?
Most of research came from just talking to relatives and such and going to the cemeteries.
most of the original papers I have of John and Sylvania are deeds and dont have any of that stuff in there.
DO you descend directly from John? I never go very far forward with the family just til i got to my current relatives.
