Sorry I don't have my genealogy with me, but I can tell you from memory that Thomas Burford was at Valley Forge, and was George Washinton's tailor. I have also found a Thomas Burford from that time period who was a painter, who is famous now. But, I can't figure out if it's the same Thomas. You probably also know that Edward Wade was in the War of 1812. I come in on the Nichols side of the family. I wish I had my information handy, unfortunately I moved out of state and it is all in storage back there. I hope I helped you Cousin.
