From the Healdton Herald printed in Healdton, Carter County, Oklahoma on Thursday, November 4, 1943: DULCENIA MARINDA BURGESS BURNS COX Funeral services were held at the Northside Church of Christ Tuesday for MRS. T. B. COX, wife of an early day minister in the Church of Christ, who passed away at the family home Monday, following an illness of several weeks. W. H. DOSS, minister in the Church of Christ and close friend of the family, conducted services, assisted by J. B. DOSS. Burial was at Mt. Olive cemetery arranged by Dale Funeral Home. DULCENIA MARINDA BURGESS was born July 12, 1863 in Gafney, North Carolian. She came with her family to London, Arkansas in childhood. She married F. W. BURNS September 16, 1883 and to this union were born eight children, four of whom survive. They are GARLAND and C. W. BURNS of Denton, Texas; MRS. PEARLIE GOLSON of Healdton and FRY BURNS of Oklahoma City, all attended the funeral. F. W. BURNS preceded her in death in November 13, 1912. She married T. B. COX May 21, 1921. He died in 1933. She was a devoted member of the Church of Christ, uniting with the church in 1900. The family moved to Texas in March 1897 then to Love County, Oklahoma in 1907. For the past several years, she resided in the western Carter County where she made many friends. In addition to her four children, she is survived by one sister, five brothers, 12 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Notify Administrator about this message?
