I am looking for info on Thomas J. Burgess born around 1845 in DeKalb county, AL (Duck Springs area) to Richard Burgess (born SC 1820) and Elizabeth Gray. This Thomas had a younger sister named Gilla Jane. She is my gg grandmother. They are found living next door to each other in Lincoln County, TN in 1880, both married. I found another Thomas J. Burgess around the same age living in Dekalb/Etowah county. Was his father James? Were James and Richard brothers? I am very confused. I know there are at least 2, if not 3 Thomas J. Burgesses. Any info on these appreciated. I am especially interested in their parents and where in SC they were from. Thanks!
