I believe this is the line you are searching for, I found this site two weeks ago and after studing it and comparing it to the censuses I believe this # 6 child, Marcus. is yours.
Diana Swayne didn't have a complete work up on Marcus other then with his parents, I don't either since my line is his brother, John M Burgess born 1833 in Spartanburg SC so Pappy John Burgess' property must have went into Union Co when Union was taken out of Spartanburg Co or he moved to Union . I don't recall what year Union was taken out of Spartanburg Co.
This Family was also in Cherokee Co N C and are known as the Cherkoee Co N C Burgess.
I tried to contact Diana Swayne at email on site then did search and discovered she had died.

ABT 1812 when John (Pappy) was 23, he first married Sarah Frances, in Union Co., GA. Born ABT 1793 in Union Co., GA.
Sarah Frances died in Cherokee Co., NC ABT 1860, she was 67.
They had the following children:
i. Lemuel. Born ABT 1812 in Union Co., GA.
Lemuel married Mary (Polly).
ii. Hiram. Born ABT 1821 in Union Co., GA.

3 iv. William (~1826-)

vii. Calvin. Born ABT 1835 in Union Co., GA.

AFT 1846 when John (Pappy) was 57, he second married Elvira LATTERMORE. Born ABT 1815 in NC.
AFT 1847 when John (Pappy) was 58, his third marriage was to a YOUNG.
