A WAIF- Some three weeks since a strange woman stopped at the residence of Thomas BURKHALTER near Thorntown, having in her possession a young babe. She had been there about two weeks when through, pretended business to town she left the babe in the care of the family and has, as we suppose, not finished her business yet, as she has not returned. She will not doubt be astonished on her return at the kindness of Mr. BURKHALTER, for he has as we understand procured for the infant a home with a friend ABBOTT on the country farm.
