Ms. Blomquist:

My GGG grandfather Jacob Reddick and his brother Peter Reddick bought 400 acres from a John Michael Burkhalter (also spelled Buckhalter). This property was apparently above Paris Mill, now Millhaven Plantation near the border of Burke and Screven Counties in Georgia, which is right across the Savannah River from Edgefield, Co, SC.

The reference for this is a bit unclear, but I could dig it up for you if you want. What I have noticed in the Reddick research is that Burkhalters are always around. I'm surprised they didn't intermarry. Anyway, there's also quite a few references to the Burkhalters (then Burghalter) in Chatham living around another family, the Radick/Readick family I've been looking into.

Anyway, email if you need more info: Reddick2130@comcast.net
