Hi, I'm trying to get in contact with my long-lost father, Mark Kent Burkhalter of Houston, Texas. I have recently found my uncles and aunt, who are assisting me in the search.
I moved to the Savannah area about four years ago. I had never heard of my birth name before, and was surprised to see it everywhere. I've always told people who asked that "My Burkhalters are in Texas."
My new family has been helpful and enthusiastic in both helping me to locate my father and sharing information about how the Burkhalters settled here in Savannah. I've even seen my family crest.
So, I suppose this is by way of introduction. My name is Kate, I'm 23 years old, I haven't seen my father in twenty years, and I'm very interested in learning about where I came from and the history behind the name (which I have always found to be a particularly strong and beautiful last name) that I decided to keep though my mother remarried.
