Mr. Graham, or should I say cousin?
I sure do check this site from time to time.
We track our ancestry very similarly. I descend from Daniel Burkhalter through his son John F "Flem", brother of your Cynthia. Flem was the fiddleplayer listed in Mr. Conerly's book, in the story of the fandango at the home of Joseph Luter and Eliza Burkhalter, a sister of Cynthia and Flem. Flem's son Jesse Warren is my great-grandfather, and his daughter Ada Burkhalter married my grandfather Eugene Allmand.
I'm not very familiar with your line, but I did so enjoy the story about Mike Jones and the land grab in the Conerly book about Pike County history. The connection to Mike Jones absolutely puts you in the Burkhalter family.
I recorded a son of Mike and Cynthia Burkhalter named Harvey, but was not aware his first name was Marion. Actually, all I have is that they had six children, but I don't even have dates of birth for any of them. If you have the family information, I'd love to fill in some blanks.
My loggerhead is that I can not find the "proof" that Daniel B. is the same Daniel Burckhalter I found in Edgefield District, S.C. I'm satisfied from a family history standpoint, but it's not really genealogy standard. If I'm correct, they all descend from a Palatine German family that fled Germany because of religious and tax persecution, settled in Switzerland, Canton Bern, and came to South Carolina well before the Revolution. I have tons of information on these folks, but no documents to show that Daniel descends from John, who descends from Michael.
I'd be happy to share what I have. If you wish, you can e-mail me at email@example.com.
