Adolph Ferdinand Burkardt
Posted by: Janet Burkardt (ID *****8332) Date: December 05, 2006 at 10:00:20

Adolph Ferdinand Burkardt was born in Tutlingen, Germany. Your list incorrectly shows his name as Ferdinand Adolph. He was my grandfather. He came to West Virginia before Pittsburgh where he married my grandmother Stella. He then went to Pittsburgh where he worked in the steel mills while attending college and eventually graduated from Duquesne School of Law. He had two children. My father was Robert Ferdinand and his brother is Edward. Both became lawyers and served in the USAF. Robert had six children, two sons and four daughters. Edward had six children, two daughters and four sons. Robert died on December 1, 2006 - three years to the day after the death of his wife, Donna. Our family always maintained the original spelling of Burkardt although is has been a struggle to get folks to spell it correctly!
