Hi Janet

I have info on your line - we are related thru our mutual GGGrandparents Valentin and Katharina (ZIMMERER) BURKARDT.

Ferdinand Wendelin Burkardt b.1864 in Rottwel, Wurtemburg, Germany and my ancestor, Karl Burkardt b. 1868 were brothers. Sons of Valentin and Katharina.

Karl emigrated to Altoona, Pa where I am originally from. When he emigrated the name became BURKHARDT and later Karl changed the spelling to Burkhart. (The original spelling in Germany was BURKARDT)
Adolph, son of Ferdinand Wendelin Burkardt and my Grandfather, Charles Burkhart, son of Karl, were close cousins and often went to the races together in Tipton, Pa.

Sorry to hear about your father Robert.
