I purchased a Book of Common Prayer (Oxford, 1829) at a sale in which I found the following information: "John Burnell born 17th April 1824/Benjn. Burnell born 19th January 1826/John Burnell/Durham/June 22nd 1831/Frances [sic] Burnell born/(at B- [prob. an abbreviation for "Bishop"] Wearmouth [now poss. spelled "Bishopwearmouth"]) 16th/June 1802 & married/to John Burnell (of B[ishop]/Auckland) 19 Jany 18--[illeg.]/their son/John Burnell, born (at/B[ishop] Auckland) 17th April/1824 & Baptized same/place./Benjn. born (at/B[ishop} Auckland) 19th/Jany 1826 & Christened/at Parish Church of/Saint Margaret, Durham." The last paragraph of information is on a piece of paper attached to the back board with sealing wax (as if placed over other information to correct it): "Samuel Burnell Father/of Francis [sic] Burnell/died May 20th 1832/in the 80th year of his Age."
Hope this is of some help to someone somewhere.
