Seeking descendants/ancestors of John D. Burns, born about 1833 in New York State. In 1846, he settled in Leslie, Ingham County, Michigan, with his parents, John and Aurilla (David) Burns and his siblings (at least one brother and three sisters).

In 1860 and 1870, he lived in Riley, Clinton Co., Michigan, with his wife, Elizabeth (Cornell) Burns (b. 1840 NY State) and children. In 1880, he lived in Mancelona, Antrim Co., Michigan. His wife died on 2 Feb 1880 in Mancelona, and he remarried on 7 Nov 1880 to Elizabeth D. McCullen (b. 1859 PA).

His children by his first wife were:

Georgiana Burns, b. 1861 in MI
Alpheus J. (Alvah) Burns, b. 1869 in MI
Earl E. Burns, b. July 1879 in MI

He may have had children by his second wife, but these are unknown.

John D. Burns and his family dropped from sight, and I have been unable to find a reliable trace of them after 1880. I have a lot of information on his siblings but not him.
I would greatly appreciate any help.
