I am very interested in your William Burns, is he the son of Elijah Burns also of Williamson / Franklin County Illinoi. These Burns were early settlers arriving in Illinois before statehood sometime around 1817 and were listed on the pre-statehood census . If this is your Burns line then I have alot of data on them, Elijah's wife was Cherokee.
