Hi,Darren! Thanx for helping me. Well,I found a William Burns in the 1860 LaSalle Co.,Illinois census who was a farm laborer for a Frank Benedict,but of course I don't know that he was my William Burns.
It was definitely my William Burns you found on the 1870 LaSalle Co.,Illinois census and in the 1880 Mercer Co.,Mo. census.
I was hoping maybe my William was from the line who were in Franklin and Williamson counties in Illinois,but it may not work out. Pat
