Searching for relatives of my late grandfather, Earl Burns born in New York on October 6, 1894. He was later adopted by a Zuller when his mother remarried. My grandfather had a plate in his head from a World War One injury. He was allegedly disowned and disinherited by his family when he married my grandmother, Carrie Bray, in Putnam County, Cookeville, TN. Their marriage would probably have taken place around 1927 or 1928 since the first of their two sons was born in 1929. My grandfather was supposed to have been working for a railroad when he met my grandmother who had gone to NY for the World's Fair. She refused to leave TN so he relocated here. He claimed that a sister had a war medal(s) and military papers belonging to him but refused to give them to him after he went against his family wishes by marrying my grandmother. I have little other information and have hit a brick wall. Please, if anyone knows anything, contact me. I want to know what my last name really is and I want to know any relatives I may have. Their second born son was named Earl L. Jr. but I don't know what my grandfather's full name was so I am unsure about the Jr. in my uncle's name. I have listed my grandfather, grandmother, and their second born son in They buried in Gentry Cemetery, Putnam County, Cookeville, TN. I will be grateful for any information anyone can provide. Waiting and hoping.
