Richard Hudson Burr, Sr
Hello all,
Trying to locate the ancestry of Richard Hudson Burr, Sr (b 1 Sep 1843 in Wash DC d 4 Mar 1902 in Arch Creek - Little River, Dade Co, Florida) m 3 May 1866 Margaret Marion Fenwick (b 9 Mar 1842 in Maryland d 4 Jul 1892 in Bartow, Polk Co, Florida daughter of Edward Fenwick and Caroline Shirburn)
Richard and Margaret had the following children:

I know that Richard Hudson Burr, Sr was the son of Edward DeVere Burr who died in Homeland, Polk Co, Florida and that RH Burr, Sr's Mother was a McDaniels (I believe her name was Sarah), had a great-aunt named Mary McDaniels and have been told that the family can be tracedhere in the States to Henry Burr and Elizabeth Hudson.I've also been told that the family can trace its ancestry to Robert The Bruce, King of Scotland; Sir Thomas More of Chelsea (a noted English Scholar and Chancellor to King Henry VIII and author of the legendary book, Utopia in 1515), William Brewster of the Mayflower, Governor General Alexander Spotswood of Virginia (1710 to 1722), and American Revolutionary War hero Colonel Benjamin Temple (of the Virginia Dragoons and the Virginia State Assembly)
I myself am indirectly related to the Burr Family via RH Burr, Sr/Margaret Marion Fenwick's grandson (RH Burr Jr's Son) Raymond Orlando Burr (18 Apr 1904 in Tallahassee, Leon Co, Florida d 15 May 1987 in Miami, Miami-Dade Co, Florida) by his marriage in 1932 to Lillian Russell Clanton (b 18 Jul 1905 in Savannah, Chatham Co, Georgia d 3 Jan 1985 in Miami, Dade Co, Florida)Lillian was the daughter of Columbus Brooks Clanton (b 22 Jun 1877 in Stilson, Bulloch Co, Georgia d 9 May 1959 in Miami, Dade Co, Florida) and Eugenia Victoria Sykes (b 19 Feb 1883 in Bulloch Co, Georgia d 24 Feb 1912 in Duval Co, Florida).Eugenia was Columbus' 3rd wife.I am Columbus' great-grandson through his 4th wife, Mary Ann Nall (b 20 Mar 1890 in Moore Co, North Carolina d 23 Jul 1976 in Miami, Dade Co, Florida)
Any way I have a copy of the Charles Burr Todd book but I have been unable to find in it anything that would link me to any of Burrs in the New Jersey Branch, nor any of the other branches for that matter. And I am stumped and am not to proud to ask for help in this mystery.
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
Please feel free to post replies here and/or email me at [email protected]
Thanks in advance
