HENRY MUNSON BURSON, MID-19TH CENTURY
I have a mid-19th century photo (called a daguerreotype) of a bearded, well-dressed young gentleman which includes a strip of paper with the name "Henry Munson Burson" and "born 1828 died 1870."It was found in Colorado, but of course the image might have traveled there from anywhere in the U.S.A heavy beard such as this man wears, however, was seldom seen in the East.Mr. Burson displays great confidence and a strong, solid presence as he sits for his portrait, leading me to suspect he achieved some status, at least in his local area.Perhaps someone can send me some clues to this man's history?
