Nice to hear from you Gloria, it's amazing how many of us there are descended from a common ancestor.
I found a copy of a book in the Library of the Univ. of S.C. campus.V. & H.V. Rolland's Illustrations to the Armorial General by Johann B. Rietstap First Volume, second edition.Heraldic Book Company Baltimore MD 1967
The old copies of the book are far too expensive to buy, but check your nearest large library for a copy to see pictures. It has illustrations of the various shields of the Alberti familys from Venise, Sicile, Florence, Toscane, etc.A Write up I've seen describes the Alberti coat of arms as "In gules (red), four chains in saltire moving from a ring in the heart of the shield and ending in the four corners or the shield all argent (silver)"Essentially silver chains forming a large(saltire) "X"across a shield, connected to a large silver circle or ring at shield center. The Crest, a female figure in profile issant, winged argent, robed gules and argent, the upper arm tied with the chain. The Motto, "His Adstingor Catenis" (With these chains I am bound)
I read a copy of the family crest etc. is in the San Luca Church in Venice, displayed in a glass stained window.I would love of picture of that sometime if anyone has it or can get it.
I hope this helps,
Craig
