FIRST GENERATION

1. Isaiah Burtnett was born in OH.

He was married to Hannah McDonald (daughter of Joseph McDonald and Sirnai(?)) on 25 Aug 1836 in Athens Co, OH. Hannah McDonald died before Oct 1841 in Athens Co, OH. She was born in OH. Isaiah Burtnett and Hannah McDonald had the following children:

+2 i. Thomas Burtnett.

He was married to Sarah Anderson on 3 Oct 1841 in Athens Co, OH.


SECOND GENERATION

2. Thomas Burtnett was born on 6 Feb 1838 in OH. He resided grandparents farm on 2 Oct 1850 in Trimble Twp, Athens Co, OH. He resided George Maxted's farm in 1918 in Mooreland, Woodward Co, OK. He died on 10 Aug 1918 in Woodward, Woodward Co, OK. He was buried on 13 Aug 1918 in Moscow Cemetery, Woodward, Woodward Co, OK. Moscow Cemetery; undertaker Jno Chenoweth. He was a farmer. He is listed with the parents of his deceased mother in the 1850 census, when he was 12.

He was married to Susan Cray. Sadie also had a sister in Oklahoma. Susan Cray died before 10 Aug 1918 in OK. She probably died before 1908, OK Health Dept could find no death record after 1908. Or perhaps she died in KS. She was born in OH. Thomas Burtnett and Susan Cray had the following children:

+3 i. Sarah A. (Sadie) Burtnett was born on 17 Sep 1870 in Coldwater, Comanche Co, KS. She Death Cause Bronchopneumonia--diabetic gangrene due to diabetes mellitus on 17 Feb 1944 in Memphis, Shelby Co, TN. She died on 20 Feb 1944 in Memphis, Shelby Co, TN. She was buried on 23 Feb 1944 in Memphis, Shelby Co, TN. Forest Hill Cemetery. She was a school teacher in Mooreland, Woodward Co, OK. They had to ford the river to shop or go to the school. She was a large woman, probably of German descent, perhaps 300 pounds. After her husband died, she moved in with her daughter, Bertha, in Memphis. She was married to George Maxted (son of Benjamin Maxted and Mary Daniels) before 1890 in Coldwater, Comanche Co, KS.
4 ii. Bert Burtnett resided farm between 1900 and 1920 near Moorland, OK. He died in OK. Bachelor. Worked with Sadie's family abt 1910. Was a sheepherder for several
years in MT or ND where he was isolated for lengthy periods. Was an excellent
gunman with his 45 six shooter which he slept with. Perhaps he got into trouble
up north.
5 iii. Jake Burtnett resided farm between 1900 and 1920 near Moorland, OK. He died in OK. Bachelor. He would not get a haircut in winter to keep warm. Worked with
Sadie's family in OK abt 1910. Was the older brother; farmer.
6 iv. Burtnett. She lived in OK.
