From the War of 1812 Pension Application for John Burton, of Walton Co, GA, we know that he served during 1813 in the Company of Franklin Co, GA militia commanded by Capt. Garrett L. Sandidge. Looking in the 1813 Franklin Co, GA Tax List, we find Garrett L. Sandidge listed as owning 5 negroes and 150 acres on Grove River. Grove Creek is located in present-day Banks Co, GA (created from Franklin in 1858)southeast of the Town of Homer, flowing into the Hudson River. Webb Creek, location of John Burton, is also located southeast of Homer and also flows into the Hudson River. This shows that John Burton and Garrett L. Sandidge lived in the general area of Franklin Co, GA. This is just another confirming clue, to me, that John Burton, of Walton Co, GA, was indeed the John Burton, of Webb Creek and soldier in Capt. Garrett L. Sandidge's company during the War of 1812.
