You are absolutely correct about the birthdates of Clarinda and Sarah Ann. I mistyped from the Bussey Family book. It said Sarah Ann was born in l Jun 1828, which is still too close to Clarinda's birthdate of 9 Dec 1827. I could not find a record of Clarinda's marr. in the book "100 Years of Trumbull Co. OH Marr. 1800-1900" and could find no other mention of her birth or death in the records I searched. Marilla married Joseph Bowen 14 Oct. 1852. They had at least one child, Melissa, who died 9 Aug 1863, 9 yrs, 11 mo., 23 days, according to the Riverside Cem. record, at Shell Rock, Butler, Iowa. Marilla died 7 Apr 1865 in Shell Rock. Joseph then married Sarah Ann Bussey Miller after her husband died. Joseph Bowen died 1910 and Sarah Ann died 1912. All three are buried in Riverside Cem., Sarah Ann on one side and Marilla on the other side of Joseph. I have visited their graves. Edward Bussey's tombstone gives his birth as 4 Jul 1774 and death as 18 June 1863. This from a book recording all graves in Sewell Cem. near Waverly, Iowa.
Dorcas Bussey's stone states: Age 72 years. 2-9-1868 - giving approx. b. date of 1796. Full date given in Bussey book was 26 Jan 1868. Edward Bussey (sr) was born 1740, died 1782. I found a letter at the DAR in Wash.D.C. written in 1911 by Cyrus Bussey, a grandson of Edward and Dorcas, stating that Edward Bussey, born 1740, died 1782, 2 months after his father's death. The father was Edward Bussey who marr. Mary. He was born 1705, died 1782. Ruth Colegate was born 1754 in Baltimore, MD. I tried to find a record of her death in Trumbull Co. but no listing for her. Tried for Monongalia Co. WV but no luck there either. Most of this info is from Bussey book. I would like to get further documentation on the Busseys and welcome any help or corrections. Ferrol
