I thought I'd update the known information on this Bussey family:

Dorothy's parents were Francis "Frank" Bussey, a coal miner born about 1833 in England, and Elizabeth Fowler, born about 1829 in England. The possible mother and possible brothers listed in my original message may be related, but are NOT Dorothy's mother and brothers.

Dorothy and her parents apparently immigrated to the U.S. about 1854-1855, as her brother Joseph W. Bussey was born in Wisconsin on 13 August 1855.

The family then moved to Springfield, Sangamon County, Illinois, where another brother, Francis Fowler Bussey, was born 12 August 1857. A sister, Margret Bussey was born about December 1859 in Illinois. The family is found in the 1860 DuQuoin, Perry County, Illinois census. Another brother, James Bussey, was born about 1862 in Illinois.

Margret may have died before the 1870 census, as she is not listed as living with the family in Carbon, Carbon County, Wyoming Territory. Apparently, Dorothy and Anthony Proud married in Wyoming in 1870, not Illinois, as hypothesized in my original message. However, they did return to Illinois and move on to Kansas, then Colorado.

Dorothy's parents and brothers, however, moved to Judsonville, Contra Costa County, California by the 1880 census, then to Black Diamond, King County, Washington, probably about 1885 . Her mother Elizabeth died in 1884, probably in California. Her father Francis died 10 Sep 1898 in Black Diamond, Washington. Her brother Francis died 22 Dec 1920 in Black Diamond. Her brother Joseph moved back to Contra Costa County, California sometime between 1900 and 1920, and died in Oakland, California 13 May 1845.

Once again, I would be happy to share information with anybody on this Bussey family.
