I am looking for information on William Bussey (b. Stoughton, MA 1729) who married Grace (Keny) Jordan, in 1775. Grace was the widow of Samuel Jordan who died at Crown Point in the war in 1756. Grace and Samuel had several sons. I just discovered that she had, in fact, married a Bussey, through the military records of her sons, Lemuel Jordan and Joseph Jordan, both of whom died in the Revolution in 1777. She is named as Grace Bussey in this information which prompted me to look for a second marriage for Grace and discovered that she had married William Bussey. Since she would have been 50 odd years old at the time of her marriage to William, I am presuming that they had no children of their own. Does anyone know if William was married before this? Did he have children? I am, in fact, a Jordan descendant and am researching that family but it is obviously intricately involved with the Busseys, so would like information on this. As you all probably are aware, William Sr married Olive Jordan, c/o Thomas Jordan, who is also part of my family. Any information or direction on this part of the family would be appreciated.
I live in Nova Scotia, Canada, and although I know there are Busseys in Newfoundland, I am not aware of any in this province. My family came as Planters to the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia in 1760 and it is these Jordans I am researching.
Thanks for any help.
