The restaurant formerly owned
jy Sherman Buster (deceased) and
bought a few months ago by Arnold
Henley was destroyed by fire
here Sunday night about eleven
o'clock. The cause of the fire is
known.. Very little was saved
from the fire, as Mr. and Mrs. Hen-
ley were at their farm near town
and did not know about it until
the building was almost gone. The
building and contents were covered
by a small insurance.
The residence of Albert Engle-
brecht across the street caught fire
twice and was extinguished by the
neighbors who had gathered to re-
sponse to the warning sounded by
the ringing of the church bell.
Mr. and Mrs. James Buster plan
to spend several days this week with
their daughter, Mrs. Elmer Connel
of Jefferson City.

Quilt for Hostess
Quilting for the hostess was a
feature of the recent meeting of
the Eugene Country Club in an
all day session at the home of
Mrs. Frank Ekstam. Fifteen
members and one visitor, Mrs.
Otis Morris, were present. The
regular meeting was held in the
afternoon at which time Mrs.
Bob Harrison gave a book review
on "Hartwood." A seed
and bulb exchange was held.
Mrs. Harold Ekstam led the
group in singing songs. The next
meeting will be with Mrs. Basil
Buster on May 13 with the sublect
for discussion being "Your
Feet and Their Care."
Amateur Hour Program
The Eugene Willing Workers
Club will present a number on
the Amateur Hour Program
sponsored by the F.H.A. girls of
Eugene this evening. A donation
was made to the Cancer Fund
at the last club meeting. Mrs.
Ford Spalding, reading chairman,
reviewed the book, "The
Emperor's Physician." The next
meeting will be on May 7 with
Mrs. Ward Buster as hostess.
Mrs. J. E. Leuthen will be in
charge of the discussion on
"Your Feet and Their Care."
Mother's day will be observed
by songs and poems of mother.

U. S. Indians Discussed
Mrs. Basil Buster Was the leader
in charge of the discussion on
"United States Indians" at the
monthly meeting of the Eugene
Country Club. Sixteen members
and four visitors, Mrs. Arlie Binkley,
Mrs. Raymond Sullens, Mrs.
Milburn Klindt, and Mrs. Bert
Ford, attended the meeting. Mrs.
Ford became a member of the club.
A seed and bulb exchange was
held. The members quilted for the
hostess.

to Kansas City Friday on ac-
count of serious illness of her
sister, Mrs. Dell Foley.
Billie Joe Buster, technician
fireman, USN, write his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Basil Buster,
that he has been made master
at arms in the dining room on
his ship, a destroyer, the USS
Hollister, which is on an extend-
ed cruise to the East and is now
in Hong Kong, China. Billie Joe
is now on his second trip over-
seas, having served 14 months
from Sept. 20, 1951, until Nov.
20, 1952, in Korea waters. He
enlisted June 1, 1951. He has
five awards Korean service rib-
bon, two campaign stars, United
Nation service ribbon, Japanese
occupation, presidental unit cita-
tion, and Korean Unit citation
ribbons. He is a graduate of
the Eugene High School.

passed away Thursday morning
at her home near here after sev-

2 p.m. Saturday at the Chris-

Dinwiddie, Missionary of the
Miller County Baptist Associa-
tion, Eldon, officiated. Burial
was in the Eugene cemetery.

MR. BUSTER
DIES SUNDAY
Basil W. Buster, 75, Eugene,
died Sunday at Charles E. Still
Hospital after a short illness.
Mr. Buster was born Oct. 23,
1897, in Miller County, the son
of Monroe and Nancy Wright
Buster. He was married May
20, 1922, at Spring Garden to
the former Miss Orphia
Henley, who survives at the
home.
A retired farmer, Mr.
Buster was a member of the
Eugene Christian Church and
the Oddfellow Lodge.
Survivors include: Two
daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Cun-
ningham, Lake View Heights,
and Mrs. Peggy Jones,
Russellville; a son, Billy Joe
Buster, Eugene; a brother,
Perry Buster, Coffeyville,
Kan.; 11 grandchildren; and
eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m.
today at Eugene Christian
Church with the Rev. Dennis
Lewis officiating. Burial will
be in Eugene Cemetery under
the direction of Griswold-Kays
Funeral Home, Eldon.
