I'm pretty sure Stephen Berrey and I have been in contact since the date of this posting, as his grandmother was a Harrison, from Madera's brother James Arthur Harrison; for others interested:
Hazel May Brenton b. 12 Nov 1884 Minburn, Iowa After her parents returned from Kirwin, Philips County, Kansas where they married 23 Jan 1873.Her mother was Madera E. Harrison, aka Mary Ellen Brenton, aka Dora O'Neal (yes, it's confusing, but I can prove it all), b. 4 Apr 1856 Adel, Iowa, died 7 Apr 1933 Minburn, Iowa. Her father was Henry Glenn Brenton, b. 17 Apr 1852 in Johnson County, Indiana, dies 10 July 1916 Kingman, Arizona.Though she traveled widely, I'm pretty certain she never made it to Texas.
Hazel was my Great-Great Grandmother and had a number of colorful stories to tell that I recall. After her father abandoned the family, she was raised by her older brother William Glenn Brenton on his farm and married Charles Franklin Birdsall, son of Walter Gilson Birdsall on 2 May 1903.Their children were/are Arline, Bud, Marian, Clyde and Bob.Bud (Walter Brenton Birdsall) was my grandfather.
Far more information available to those with serious interest. Thanks,
Brenton Buxton in Austin texas
