Seeking information on your Peter Byram who married Martha Horton daughter of Hugh Horton ll. Records (Overwharton Parish, Stafford Co.,Virginia) show that Martha had two children- Benjamin & Winifred Horton in the 1750s with father unknown. Many researchers have assumed that this Martha and Martha Horton (Hugh Horton ll) are the same person. If this is true, these children were born out of wedlock and retained their mother's surname. I believe that I am a descendant of Benjamin Horton born 26 August 1750.
Assuming this all true, Benjamin should show up on a tithable tax list between 1766-1770. My assumption is that these children would be living with their mother in Peter Byram's home along with their son Fielding Byram. Do you know where (Parish, county, state) Peter Byram was living 1766-1770? Have you seen lists in this period for Peter Byram?
