In Reply to: Re: ALDEN BYRAM-MARY(POLLY) MARONEY-ALABAMA by John Byram of 439

The Alden Byram that I have was born about 1800 TN and he married Mary Polly Maroney 16 May 1821 Shelby Co, AL. He was a blacksmith. Their known children were:
daughter b. 1820-1825
Rachael b. 1828 AL
Alden M. b 1831 AL
Mary E. b. 1834 AL
Rhoda b. 1837 AL
William b. 1835 AL
Sarah Almarida b. 1840 AL
Isaac Middleton b. 1843 AL
daughter b. 1835-1850 AL

I find this Alden and Mary in Shelby Co, AL for many years, up through 1880 when they are 80 years old.

I was told this Alden Byram was so named because of John Alden. I have found many Alden Byrams, some in Mississippi where other Maroneys from my line moved. It must have been a very popular name. I have not researched this Alden because he is not in my direct line. He just married into my Maroney family.

Hope this clears this line up for you.
