Hi Melinda Embrey

My name is John Arnold Byram. In 1996 I documented what I knew about the Byram family in my book, "Byrams in America." Your grandmother Alice Byram Brooks is not in that book. But in the 11 years since then I do have information about your grandmother. Here is what I have:
Alice Byram was born 16 Apr 1936 and married James Brooks. They had Linda Lee; Ema Mae; Jeanie Lou; James Jackson; John Wesley and Francis Ann. Alice was the 7th child of Edward Manuel (b.13 Dec 1889) and Rosa Jones. Edward Manuel had Mertice M, 1916; Robert Edward 1924; Clarence 1926, Percy 1928, Ann 1932, Rebecca Rae 1934; Alice 1936; Frances 1938, Richard Allen 1930; Frederick Bradley 1931. that seems out of order but is what I have.
Edward Manuel was son of John Edward (b.2 Jan 1861) and married Frances Jackson Wood. They had 8 children. John Edward was son of John T. born in 1828 and married Mildred Southerland. They had 7 children and John Edward was number 6. John T. was son of James Nimrod, b. 1800 in Culpeper Co., VA and married Nancy M Bradley. They had 10 children and John T. was the oldest. This person, James N. is in my book. That is where I pick up your branch. James N. was son of Nimrod, b.1800, and married Nancy M. Bradley. Nimrod's father was George, b.1776 and married Catherine Jones. From then on back it gets a lot less certain as your branch of the Byram family is not that well documented. Hope this helps and I hope I entered everything correctly. (
