Hello John, My name is Holly Byrum Jacobs, a great great granddaughter of Almon B. Byrum. I actually met his son my great grandfather Charlie as he lived to be 106 years old.
I have Jeptha's (Almon's father) family bible and in it is a picture of Almon and his siblings. I have gotten in touch with Daughters of American Revolution. They are researching Japhet b 1721 & Jephtha b 1732 to see if they participated in the Revolutionary war. I am interested in that information. I have a print out that says Jephet participated. But no proof. Do you know of any others?
I don't know anything about the name change story. The bible from around 1823 spells the name ByrUm. What Byram do you come from?
