Hi Ann, Found some tidbits that might make your search more confusing. On the 1900 census, Kern Co, township 6 (Bakersfield) Arthur Webster, 38, b. Apr 1862 Can, US 1888-naturalized Mary, 25, Sep 1874, Ca,SC,SC, mar 6yrs, 1preg/0 children (father) Edward Webster, 83, Feb 1817 Can, US 1883 Alien (mother) Mary, 70, Mar 1830, Ire, mar 45yrs, 4/3,US 1883 (brother) Frank W.52, May 1848, Can, mar.24yrs (no wife listed) US 1868, naturalized. bookkeeper also in Township 6, 1900 Susan Webster, 43, single, Aug 1856 Can, US 1870 runs boarding house. *( I think Susan went back to Canada) found her in 1911 census Vancouver, British Columbia. Also on passenger lists 1922 going to Bakersfield from Vancouver.) Can't find Arthur after 1900. Calif passenger lists Sep 1908 departing from Victoria B.C. Frank Webster, 60, accountant, Bakersfield Anna B., 50, Bakersfield Mary E. Webster, 32, Bakersfield Rose L., 7, Bakersfield Can't find Mary or Rose Webster 1910. found Rose 1920 San Francisco, single, boarding, stenographer Frank and Ann are in Bakersfield 1910, and 1920, no children 1870 Michigan, Ionia Co, Berlin Francis Webster, 22, b. Can, Clerk Wellington Webster, 17, b. Can, carpenter enumerated with Dr. Henry Truman and his wife Jane 2 children, all b. Canada Ionia Co Mich web page Frank W. Webster mar. Anna Barber, 8 Dec 1876 With the different dates of immigration... looks like the family went their different ways pretty early. Did the rest of the children stay in Canada?
