Fred M. Hammond Dies Suddenly; Services Tomorrow
Fred Mitford Hammond, Paonia resident since 1885, passed away April 5 at his home here. Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 10:30 at the Taylor Funeral Home in Paonia with Reverend Stanley N. Bond officiating. Interment will be at Bethlehem Cemetery.
Mr. Hammond was born at Vermillion, South Dakota, August 28, 1871, the son of Henry J. and Martha Hammond. Who had moved to South Dakota from Pennsylvania.
His wife, Minnie, preceded him in death in 1932.
Survivors include son, Donald and daughter Mrs. Delores Lodge, both of Anaheim, California and a brother, Guy Hammond of Delta. In addition four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews survive.
