Hi Kathy,
not related, but found a little. The spelling of Russel/Russell seems to be interchangable. found it both ways. There are several online trees for George russell's family (large) his father was Henry Russell, b. Maine
mother - Catherine Barrington, b. Ireland. According to 1900 census, they had 9 living children. George was in the middle somewhere only 3 boys. They lived in Oconto Co. Wi.
George married Mary Etta Delano- 26 Nov 1885 (found on the Oconto Co Genweb page). Looks like they stayed in wisconsin for a few years. 1900 they were in Michigan, Schoolcraft Co, ... 1910 Spokane, Wa. Between the census they were in Idaho for a couple years. 4 children - Marion 1886 Wi, Harrison 1888 Wi, Delano 1894 Wi, Esther L. about 1904 Idaho.

1920 Ca, L.A. George was Widower, boarding. One of the only reasons George russell could be tracked was the unusual combinations of birthplaces - Wi, Maine, Ireland.

Some of the things on the family trees, don't agree with what I have learned just this evening... so be cautious what you use.

Good luck
Judy
