I found a J. Mesa dying 4 August 1915, Orange County. Age difficult to read, I think is says age 28.

No obit in Los Angeles Times. My indexes cover only births, marriages, deaths----no actual articles.

Go to the Southern California Obituary site I sent you before clicking on Orange County. Scroll down page to Orange Public Library. When making request explain that an article might appear as well as an obituary.

Was he born in California? Is it possible that he at one time went by the first name of Juan?
