I don't know if this will help you but here is the 1900 census. I noticed the birthdates for John C and George W look too close??
Jones, John R w/m born Aug 1832 age 67 years old born in Wales
parents born in Wales
Bertha E w/f wife born Jan 1855 age 45 yrs old born in Switzerland/parents born in Switzerland
John C son born May 1876 age 24 yrs born in CA
George W son born May 1879 age 21 yrs born in CA
Bertha E dau born Jan 1884 age 16 yrs born in CA
William E son born Jan 1886 14 yrs born in CA
Margaret V dau born May 1900 age 10 yrs born in CA
It looks like Florence married and had moved from the house by the 1900 census. And also the info for Margaret is wrong. She was 10 yrs old which puts her birthdate at 1890 not 1900. Are John's descendants Wesley and Unis? And is Alice Farthing the sister of Nancy Farthing?
I'm very excited about your new info and there is a descendant of Owen R Jones who lives close to Auburn also. That is unless you already know him.
