I went to school in Pescadero which is on the coast of San Mateo Co whereas the towns you list are inland but only a short distance. There were two boys close to my age, Ronald Duarte and Clarence Nunes. Ronald is still in Pescadero, the owner of Duartes Restaurant. Don't know about Clarence Nunes, I bought a head of lettuce one time recently that had the Nunes name on it and stated shipped from Salinas,Ca.
I don't know how much you know about the Azores and the Portuguese people that came from there. There were a good many of them settled in Pescadero which means Fishing villiage as many of the first Portuguese were. They later became farmers and most of the artichokes were raised by them at one time.
