Looking at the CA Death Index 1940-1997 at www.vitals.rootsweb.com/ca/death/search there is a Elpida Vardas b. Nov. 15, 1893-Other Country d. March 30, 1975 in Santa Cruz Co. no father's or mother's surnames.
