Hi all
I have some news for you regarding the Caballero Family Name
It is said that the first Caballero started more than 1,000 years ago, when Jewish families coming from Argelia came to the Iberian Peninsula around years 700-900.
They migrated to Italy and to the Iberian Peninsula, their name was Cavalieri or Cavaliero, and every country they visited they changed according to the language of such a country, by example: in Portugal: Cavalheiro, in Italy Cavalieri, in Spanish: Caballero and in French: Cavalier.
There was a rumor in Spain that Caballero Family descended directly of the Visigoth's or Visigodos who were German families that invaded Spain between years 500-700 and when they felt Spaniards they became the last name Caballero, but that rumor still say that they were Sefardic Jewish too.
They left Spain because of the Persecution against Jewish in 1492 and they went to Turkey as Sefardic Jewish and some other Caballero went to south America and others went to Central America.
The migration of Caballero going towards Mexico and The United States happened during the 1700's until the late 1800's.
That is a very important topic to remember when we want to analyze the beginning of the Caballero Family name.
