I am looking for any information of Mary Eugenia Cabaret, born in France and came to America with her father a Van Con Cabaret or Caubarreux. The latter name is the one we assume to be correct. However a copy of Mary's daughter's certificate of Baptism shows the name spelled Cabaret. Mary Eugenia married Andrew St. Germain. Their daughter Mary Eulalie St. Germain was born Feb 9, 1858 in Cloutierville, LA. Mary Eulalie St. Germain married Lewis Walters.
One story I have come across was that Mary Eulalie was disinherited when she married Walters because he was Irish or was Protestant (I have heard both).
Mary Eugenia was said to have spoken only French and was a midwife.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is my brick wall.
