To those who might be interest. I found the following and it looks like this is a form of some kind of Vital Record--which would substantiate that Charles was born in 1766, not the 1751 so often reported.
The National Genealogical Society Quarterly, Volumes 1-85, 1600s- 1900s, Volume 11, Earlies Missouri Records (continued), Page 59 -- SHOWS --"1766, June 24th. Charles, born yesterday, son of Louis Cabazier or Labazier or Cabassier and Victoire Daume".
