Hi Jack,
I just read this interesting account, and noticed one mistake worth commenting on. You mention that little Jacques Bissonnet went back to his father and was raised by him and his new wife Marie Dallon (D'Aulonne). That is not quite correct. By the time Pierre and Marie were planning to get married, they contemplated the possibility of taking the child into their new household, as there is even mention of it in their marriage contract. However, within a year, Pierre again rejected him and sent the boy to live with a neighbor, Pierre Dubuc. They even registered a contract with the notary Becquet to the effect that Dubuc would raise and care for the child until age 19.
