Adam (1755-1844) and Rebecca (1759-1801 or 1844) Cabbage Do any of you Cabbage people who do research in Pennsylvania have any ideas as to how we might find the maiden name of Adam Cabbage’s wife, Rebecca? He was born April 1755 in Chester Co., PA and died March 17, 1844 in Granger Co., TN. His wife Rebecca is believed to have been born about 1759, also in Chester Co., PA and she is believed to have died 1801 or 1844 after they moved to TN. Adam lived at Millerstown, Shenandoah Co., VA (now Woodstock in Frederick Co., VA.) at the time of his enlistment. He served 1776-1777 in the Revolutionary War, as a Pvt. with Captain Jonathon Clark & Col. Peter Muhlenberg, VA line. He was discharged at Valley Forge. Record show #S-2111 Pensioned Certif. 31 009. He may have spent some further time in Frederick Co., VA. After his time in the Shenandoah Valley of VA, he may have moved to Grainger Co., TN about 1783. He is listed in the Grainger TN 1810 census with a wife & 7 children. Adam and Rebecca are believed to have been married about 1783-1784 in Granger Co., TN. They had children: Elizabeth Betsy Cabbage (Apr 18, 1786), Mary Margaret "Peggy" Cabbage (Feb 8, 1788), John Cabbage, II (Dec 16, 1789), Hannah Cabbage (Feb 25, 1792), Sarah Sally Cabbage, (Feb 15, 1794), Adam Cabbage, Jr. (Feb 25, 1795), Martha "Patsy" Cabbage (Apr 8, 1799), Alexander Cabbage (1790-1800), Jacob Cabbage (Abt. 1800). Adam had a brother John, who in 1786, married a Catherine M., after moving to Sullivan, and Grainger Co., TN. I do not know her maiden name either. Notify Administrator about this message?
