Hello, I am ggrandaughter to William H. Cabell, b. 1844 in Virginia. He was 72 when my grandmother was born (whom is still alive). He served in the 2nd VA Cavalry, Co. E. and came to Texas in 1879. My grandmother has little recollection of him other than his Irish accent and she remembers being told that Earle Cabell of Dallas was her "second" cousin". I cannot locate who his parents were or if he had any siblings. I hope that someone out there has some info as I would like to give my grandmother something about her father and his family. My grandmother will be 86 very soon. It would delight her so to know of father's heritage. I have been working on this for over one year and have purchased both books of The Cabells and Their Kin, I was wondering also if anyone has copy of original book (1895) that might reference to my ggrandfather.
