John George Cabaniss was born in Pittsylvania County, VA. His wife was Mary Astin Cabaniss, also born in Pittsylvania County. One of their sons, William George Cabaniss was born in Pittsylvania County om 1841 and his wife was Mary J. Cabaniss.

One of William George Cabaniss sons was Frank Garland Cabaniss (my great grandfather). William was a captain in the Civil War.

There was also Cabaniss family in Charlotte County, VA.
