According to "Cabaniss Through Four Generations: Some Descendants of Matthew and George" by Allen Cabaniss, Research Professor of History, University of Mississippi, University, Miss., 38677, copyright 1969, 1970, 1971 and reproduced for other family members with permission by Billy Joe Cabaniss,Jr.[P. O. Box 701128, San Antonio, TX 73270]1997--John, son of Matthew/Hannah, had a wife Elizabeth [Epes?], and an only surviving child William. John's estate was entered into probate, Inferior Court, Jones Co. GA on 14 Aug 1820.
According to "Henry Cabaniss and His Descendants" by John Plath Green, Attorney at Law, Dallas, Texas, 1956, John, son of Matthew/Hannah was abot about 1742 in Amelia Co., VA, died 1822 in Jones County, GA, deeded land in Amelia Co. to Charles Cabaniss in 1773. This line was not extended further.
